Get your sunglasses ready because you’ll need them even at night. Neon colors are back!
Bright neon colors are “it” this spring and summer. However, not a lot of us are thrilled with this 80’s inspired colors because honestly, who can really look great in them?
Here are ways to wear neon and get away with it:
Start off with neon accessories:
Neon colors are a bit intimidating to infuse into our wardrobes. So those of us who are uneasy in working these bright colors into our closet may start off with accessories. A neon pink or yellow handbag will brighten your everyday outfit. You may also try neon trendy pumps to go with your little black dress or use neon jewelry with your neutral colored attire. If you’re having doubts with neon, start slowly with accessories.
Pair neon with neutral colors:
When you’re wearing neon top, pair it with a skirt or pants in neutral color or switch it up. Wear neon colors with caution and never wear them full blast. They will be balanced and made more subtle by neutral colors such as black and white. Here are suggestions you might want to try: match up a neon bottom with a white blouse, or don a black ensemble with a neon jacket. Use your imagination in mixing and matching, just always remember not to overdo it.
Go easy on the accessories:
In wearing neon, keep your accessories on the minimum. Don’t go over the top by using too much accessories with neon clothing. Bright clothes with too many or too bright accessories will look garish, gaudy and chaotic. Don’t match neon accessories with the same neon outfit like a neon pink handbag and shoes with a neon pink dress. Color synchronization doesn’t work with very bright colors.
Don’t be intimidated with neon. They will add color and fun to your spring and summer wardrobe. However, just be careful and don’t get too carried away with it!
